This is a list of some healing crystals and stones that I have personally worked with, an all of the stones featured here in photo are from my collection. I am working on adding more stones to this list!

Red Jasper

  • Moh’s Hardness: 6 – 7
  • Associated Sign: Capricorn
  • Water Safe: Leo
  • Tumbling Rating: Excellent
  • Main Uses: boost spiritual energy, motivation and empowerment

Red Jasper is yet another member of the Chalcedony group, and is the spiritual sister to Carnelian. Red Jasper is an rich red and opaque stone that gets its color from hematite inclusions.

Red Jasper boosts spiritual energy, confidence, and motivation. This energetic stone is associated with courage and confidence, and will empower you to live your day to the fullest.

Red Jasper is one of my personal favorite stones, and I recommend wearing this stone on a piece of jewelry to keep energy levels up and promote a strong mental state throughout the day.

Carnelian

  • Moh’s Hardness: 6 – 7
  • Associated Sign: Aries
  • Water Safe: yes
  • Tumbling Rating: Excellent
  • Main Uses: boost physical energy, metabolism and circulation

Carnelian is a variety of the Chalcedony group. This is a bright red, semi-translucent stone that stimulates physical processes in the body. The stone gets its color from the presence of iron oxide.

This stone will boost physical energy throughout the day by kick-starting metabolism and circulation. This stone sings to the body’s natural rhythm and will keep you on your feet and smiling all day long.

Carnelian also extends the healing properties of clear quartz and will help with focus and energy channeling. This is an excellent stone to aid with weight loss or low stamina.

I recommend this stone to someone who is looking to boost their energy throughout the day, or who struggles with metabolic or circulation issues. The best way to use carnelian is to wear it as jewelry or keep it on your person throughout the day.

Mixed Chalcedony

  • Moh’s Hardness: 6 – 7
  • Associated Sign: Virgo
  • Water Safe: yes
  • Tumbling Rating: Excellent
  • Main Uses: grounding, balance
  • Chakra: Root

Chalcedony actually constitutes a group of stones including Jasper and Agate. This grouping is unique because it includes stones that are comprised of microcrystalline quartz and usually at least one other distinguishing mineral that gives the stones a special color.

Varieties of Chalcedony include Agate, Jasper, Bloodstone, Chrysoprase, Carnelian, and Onyx.

Since the main ingredient for all Chalcedonies is quartz, Chalcedony extends the same healing properties. The varieties of Chalcedony listed above all have unique healing properties caused by the presence of special minerals, but often Chalcedony can have a muddled or mixed color that comes from the inclusion of many different minerals.

This is what I like to call “Mixed Chalcedony”, and it is commonly found in many simple and earthly colors: anywhere between pale gray to dark brown.

The dominant presence of quartz crystals and the heavy mixing of minerals gives Mixed Chalcedony a very calming and earthly energy. This is an excellent grounding stone and is perfect for connecting and harmonizing the body and mind.

I also recommend this stone to those who suffer with stress or anxiety, because it can help mitigate the unwanted misdirection of energy within the conscious.

Sunstone

  • Moh’s Hardness: 6 – 6.5
  • Associated Sign: Libra
  • Water Safe: yes
  • Chakra: Solar Plexus
  • Tumbling Rating: Excellent
  • Main Uses: Aids self-discovery, promotes joy and happiness

Sunstone is a reddish pink and sparkly variety of plagioclase feldspar. According to legend, a great warrior’s blood was felled by an arrow, and their blood seeped into the stones. As a result, the stone also absorbed bravery, strength, and vitality.

This lively stone promotes confidence and happiness through self-love, and will help you shine from the inside out. This stone is ideal for those who question their identity or struggle with discovery. Sunstone can help bolster independent energy.

Rainbow Fluorite

Rainbow Fluorite is a beautiful multi-colored form of calcium fluoride that crystalizes into cubic or even sometimes octahedral formations. Rainbow fluorite is very transparent, and coloring includes clear, aqua, violet, and green hues. The unique structure of this mineral can create geometric patterns.

Fluorite crystalizes near igneous formations from mineral-rich underground water sources. This minerals is used to create hydrogen fluoride, and used used for industrial optics.

Fluorite has a gentle and calming healing energy that is great for stress-relief and self-reflection. The unique geometric patterns and shapes found in fluorite amplify focus and problem-solving. Use this crystal to help make stress-free decisions or to help amplify critical thinking at school or work.

Fluorite is also a beautiful and elegant option for home decor.

Banded Agate

  • Moh’s Hardness: 7
  • Associated Sign: Aries
  • Water Safe: Yes
  • Chakra: Solar Plexus
  • Tumbling Rating: Excellent
  • Main Uses: Harmonizing emotions
  • Best Placed: On person

Banded agate is a unique member of the Chalcedony group with distinct stripes. Agates typically form within softer host rocks where silica layers are deposited into cavities slowly over time. The silica can include different minerals that can give color to each layer.

These striking stones extend the grounding and healing properties of Chalcedony, but possess the unique characteristic of harmony. Banded Agate is excellent for harmonizing conflicting energies, and balancing emotions.

I recommend this stone to people struggling with unwanted surges of emotion, like uncontrolled anger, frustration, manic behavior, or sudden sadness. This stone is best kept on the body either as jewelry or a pocket stone. Another option is to keep a Banded Agate in high stress environment such as work.
